Police investigating Reporoa robbery

"Police investigating Reporoa robbery"

Attributable to Detective Chris Nairn:

Bay of Plenty Police are investigating an aggravated robbery in Reporoa in which firearms and other items were stolen.

Police received a report early yesterday [January 21] that around 2:45am a male had been hit across the body with a baseball bat and threatened with a firearm by three males at a rural property.

The victim sustained a minor injury which did not require medical attention.

Other firearms, ammunition, and electronic items including mobile phones were stolen from the property, before the offenders left in a vehicle.

Initial indications suggest this property may have been targeted.

Police are investigating further the circumstances of what happened and would welcome any information from the public.

If you are aware of who may be involved, or have any information which may be useful to Police, please call Rotorua Police on (07) 349 9400.
