Man seriously injured after incident in Panmure – update

Police enquiries are continuing following a stabbing incident in Panmure last night.

Police were called after reports a man was stabbed, following an altercation, at a property on Tripoli Road, Panmure, about 11pm yesterday.

Detective Senior Sergeant Greg Brand says the offender fled the scene soon after the man was stabbed.

Police believe the two parties are known to each other.

The man was taken to Auckland Hospital in a serious condition, but is now in a stable condition.

Enquiries are ongoing to locate the offender.

“Anyone who may have witnessed this incident or saw anything suspicious in the area is urged to contact Auckland Crime Squad on 09 302 6557 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111,” he says.

As the investigation is in its early stages, no further details are available at this stage.
