Urgent tree removal on O'Neill St

Urgent tree removal on O'Neill St

21 February 2019

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Hamilton’s O’Neill St and George St will be under traffic control on Friday 22 February while a decaying tree is removed.

The large oak tree on the corner of the two Claudelands streets has lost one limb, revealing rot extending into its trunk.

To safely and effectively remove the tree, Hamilton City Council’s arborists will need to work at the site with a Traffic Management Plan in place – stop/go control of any vehicles using the road.

Traffic on the two streets will be managed between 9am and 3pm and there may be short delays while the crew does its work.

Road users should consider alternative routes through this part of the city, which includes River Rd, one of the city’s busiest streets.
