Please attribute to Detective Inspector Colin Parmenter, Waitematä Police

Police have arrested a second man in relation to a shooting in Whenuapai last month.

Police were called on January 14, after a man was found with gunshot wounds at a property on Brigham Creek Road.

A 42-year-old man was arrested on January 18, and has since appeared in court.

Police investigating the incident have now arrested and charged a 30-year-old man with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and unlawful possession of a firearm.

He also faces charges of possession of ammunition and possession of Methamphetamine for supply.

He is due to appear in the Waitakere District Court today.

Enquiries are ongoing and Police cannot rule out further charges.

As the matter is now before the courts, Police are not in a position to comment further.
