"Ruapuna Speedway gang fight - witnesses sought"

Police have been made aware of two rival gangs involved in a gang-related fight at the Ruapuna Speedway in Templeton Christchurch just after midday today.

A number of gang members were involved in the altercation and some of them have ended up hospitalised with injuries ranging from moderate to serious.

We do not tolerate this kind of behaviour particularly at public events.

The actions of these criminal gangs are concerning and have made it unsafe for the general public.

We would like to find out what happened and obtain evidence in relation to this offending.

Police are interested in any information about this incident and are encouraging witnesses to come forward. Anyone with video footage of the incident is asked to contact Police.
