Greymouth Police partner with local businesses

"Greymouth Police partner with local businesses for road safety"

Greymouth Police are partnering with local businesses to promote child restraints in cars this week.

Local businesses include A to Z Preschool, Design Windows West Coast, West Coast DHB, The Warehouse and Greymouth Columbus Café.

Acting Prevention Sergeant Mat Wood says Police will set up three child restraint education checkpoints.

“We have the help of a child seat expert to do free checks on child restraints and seats in vehicle, and some pamphlets and information to give to parents,” says Sergeant Wood.

“Police are committed ensuring our tamariki are the safest they can be while on our roads.

“We will have some free healthy snacks on offer for kids and families, and a limited a supply of coffee vouchers for the adults.

We’ll also have spot prizes donated by The Warehouse.”

Sergeant Wood says the initiative is all about education, to ensure we are all safe on our roads.

Checkpoint times and locations are as follows:

Tuesday 26th of March outside A to Z Preschool: 8:30am – 10am

Tuesday 26th of March at the Civic Centre Carpark 2:30pm – 4pm

Thursday 28th of March at the Warehouse Carpark 2:30pm – 4pm
