Free public transport for national remembrance service

28 Mar 2019

In support of Ko Tātou, Tātou We Are One, free public transport will be available this Friday 29 March.

Environment Canterbury is supporting the national remembrance service, Ko Tātou, Tātou We Are One, by providing free public transport across the Metro network, including the Diamond Harbour ferry.

Plan your trip

Services will run to their usual timetables on Friday, and people are encouraged to plan ahead and allow extra time for their journey, as the network will be busier than usual. Most of the roads around Hagley Park will be closed as part of traffic management arrangements for the event, meaning several routes will have detours in place.

Regular commuters will also receive free bus travel, however are advised to leave earlier than usual, to ensure they get to where they need to be on time.

People attending the event are also advised to allow plenty of extra time for their journey. Information on the nearest bus stops for the event will be available later today.

More information on detours will be available on the Metroinfo website later this afternoon.

Event details

Further details on the event are available on the Christchurch City Council website or on the Facebook event page.
