Police responding to incident near Whangarei

Police and emergency services are responding to reports of a vehicle having gone off the road on State Highway 1 near Whangarei.

Police were notified to the incident near Piano Hill Road about 4.30pm today.

It's believed there were no other vehicles involved.

Sadly, one person has died at the scene.

There are no road closures in place at this stage.

There is no further information available at this time.
