The man, aged in his 50s, was found dead behind the council buildings in Te Puke at around 4pm on Saturday 11 May.

Police are treating the man's death as suspicious.

We would like to speak to anyone who may have been in the vicinity of the service lane at the rear of the Te Puke Memorial Hall and Library between 5pm Friday 10 May and 4pm Saturday 11 May.

If you can help, please call Police 07 577 4384.
