Lyttelton and Sydenham Draft
Master Plans released for public comment
Residents and business people are encouraged to tell the Christchurch City Council what they think about the vision, goals and actions proposed in the Draft Sydenham and Lyttelton Master Plans for the rebuild and recovery of their suburban commercial centres.
The Draft Master Plans will be available from Saturday, 19 November for written comment. They will be online at www.ccc.govt.nz/haveyoursay and in open Council's services centres and libraries and at various other locations in both centres to read. The final date for written comments is 5pm on Monday, 19 December.
Programme
Manager, Healthy Environment Jenny Ridgen says community
leaders, land and business owners and local residents have
been instrumental in developing the Draft Master
Plans.
"It is now crucial that we hear back from them at
this vital stage in the master planning process," she
says.
Mayor Bob Parker says feedback on the Draft Master Plans will ensure good outcomes that have community buy-in and that the Master Plans are an important step towards returning investor and community confidence in these areas.
"Together we want to see business, employment and housing opportunities and the creation of liveable, prosperous and vibrant suburban centres. To do this we need direction from our residents and business people and I would therefore encourage people to comment," he says.
