Mayor in the Chair at Auckland University

Media Release
27 February 2012

Mayor in the Chair at Auckland University

Len Brown is looking forward to hearing what students think about their region, their council and its plans for the future during his next Mayor in the Chair on Friday 9 March.

The Mayor will be in the Auckland University Quad from midday until 1pm.

Mayor in the Chair events are held regularly in different locations around Auckland. They are informal lunchtime sessions that allow people to get face to face with their mayor. People are invited to come along, wait their turn, then have a brief one-on-one chat with Len Brown, to ask questions or share their thoughts and concerns about their community.

“Our students are an important part of Auckland’s future. An Auckland full of highly skilled young people will make it a great place to live and work. The wellbeing of young people is a key principle of the Auckland Plan – I want to create a city in which every young person can reach his or her full potential,” says Len Brown.

“It will be great to chat to students and hear what they have to say.”

The Mayor will set up his chairs in the Auckland University Quad, from midday until 1pm on Friday 9 March.
