CQ Hotels Wellington sponsors Big ‘A’ Community Partnership Award

Olivier Lacoua’s strong sense of community and his interest in working with the arts community in Wellington are key reasons behind his sponsorship of the Big ‘A’ CQ Hotels Wellington Community Partnership Award, presented annually by Arts Access Aotearoa.

Olivier is the General Manager of CQ Hotels Wellington, a hotel in Cuba Street recently made a Gold Member of the national Be. Accessible organisation to recognise its commitment to being accessible.
“I jumped at the chance to sponsor this fantastic award,” Olivier said. “It’s a perfect fit with my own personal philosophy and what the hotel stands for: accessibility, creativity and community.”

The Big ‘A’ CQ Hotels Wellington Community Partnership Award is one of six award categories in the Big ‘A’ Awards 2012. Richard Benge, Executive Director, Arts Access Aotearoa says CQ Hotels Wellington is a model of accessibility and has a strong relationship with the community based around the city’s Cuba Quarter.

“It’s great to have the hotel’s support for an award that celebrates partnerships, the arts and communities,” he said.

In December last year, CQ Hotels Wellington launched its Accessible Art Gallery and partnered with Arts Access Aotearoa to exhibit more than 30 artworks by creative space artists.
