Final days for child and tertiary student HOP card users to renew their concession

Auckland Transport advises that child and tertiary student HOP card holders need to renew the concession on their HOP cards before the end of March in order to continue to receive a child or tertiary student discounted fare.

HOP card concession renewal is an annual process required to be completed by customers who travel on a child or tertiary student concession fares.

Child and tertiary students who do not renew the concession on their HOP card by the end of March will be charged an adult fare from 1 April.

Concession renewal needs to be completed as soon as possible to ensure HOP cards are updated in time as it can take up to ten days to process applications.

Renewal is simple and easy and can be done by filling in an online form at myhop.co.nz. Secondary school students aged 16 years or older and tertiary students also need to attach a copy of their student ID with their application. Either a scanned copy or a digital photograph of your ID is acceptable.

Concession renewal forms are also available from Britomart Transport Centre, New Lynn and Newmarket train stations.
