PRESS RELEASE
13 February 2013

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Free Family Event This Weekend at Auckland’s Waterfront Pacific Marketplace

Visit the Cloud on Auckland’s waterfront this Saturday 16th February for an all-day family fun event at the Pacific Showcase, Auckland’s newest Pacific marketplace.

There’s fun for the family this Saturday with a dedicated Kids Activity Zone from 11am – 3pm, with free activities including face painting, waka rides, temporary tattoos, a hula competition, chalk off, balloon twister, colouring competition and learn to weave.

The stage will come alive with music and performance throughout the day with traditional and contemporary inspired performances.

Installation art, traditional Tatau (tattoo) and Tongan print painting make up some of the visual arts demonstrations that are taking place.

Visit the market stalls and discover the best of the Pacific, including fresh and flavoursome foods and beverages and unique artisan products.

Last weekend True Pacific ambassador Robert Oliver tantalised the taste buds of the many who sampled his inspired creations in a live food show at the Pacific Showcase.

In an all-day celebration of Pacific Cuisine, Oliver delighted the audience by providing a few of his food creations, including Sashimi Samoa, Ota Ika and Ice Kofi, using quality Pacific products that are part of the True Pacific brand.

The Pacific Showcase is a free admission event, operating on Saturdays from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at The Cloud on Auckland’s Queens Wharf on 16 February, 2nd and 9th March.
