Dunedin
(Friday 1 March) – Dunedin is fizzing with a
particularly eclectic range of events in March.
From international sports fixtures to the Royal New Zealand Ballet, from iD Dunedin Fashion Week to the Fringe Festival, from the Middlemarch Singles Ball to the Armageddon Expo, there is an event that could entice even the most reclusive Dunedin resident out of their early autumn nesting.
Mayor Dave Cull says “On the back of the Quality of Life Survey results, this is another tangible demonstration that Dunedin really is a great small city - and that we already have a city of believers. The survey showed that more than 80% of Dunedin people think this is a great city to live in – a diverse mix of events like this is just one of the reasons why we love it.”
A listing of events in Dunedin can be found at www.dunedin.govt.nz/events. While not a completely exhaustive list of things to do in Dunedin at any given time, the range on offer is impressive.
DCC Events Co-ordinator Marilyn Anderson says, “It’s great to see people using our free events listing to promote their events, whether community or commercial. We want Dunedin to be a vibrant and exciting place to live and making it easy for people to spread the word about their events is one small way we can help this to happen.”
