New Directors Appointed to Lakes Leisure Limited

Press release
New Directors Appointed to Lakes Leisure Limited

The Queenstown Lakes District Council today appointed new directors to the board of Lakes Leisure to manage the reintegration of its activities back into Council.

“The former directors of Lakes Leisure advised us today that they did not wish to continue as directors in light of the decision to bring the activities of Lakes Leisure back in house,” Mayor van Uden said.

“Accordingly, to ensure on going governance and smooth operation of the company, Council appointed three new directors to the company.”

The new directors are Mayor van Uden, Chief Executive Adam Feeley and Chief Financial Officer Stewart Burns.

“Given that Council has resolved to transfer the operations performed by Lakes Leisure in house and disestablish the company, it is not a situation where “business as usual” directors are required,” said Mayor van Uden.

She said that the current management team would continue to run the day to day operations of the company, and this would be complemented by QLDC officers and elected representative to govern Lakes Leisure through the reintegration process.

“As I have already said, it is business as usual for the time being and the public will not observe any change to services provided by Lakes Leisure,” Mayor van Uden said.
