Len Brown in Papakura for Mayor in the Chair ‘Evening Edition’
The Mayor is looking forward to chatting with Papakura locals at an informal public meeting on Tuesday 14 May.
The 6.30pm meeting in the Massey Park Function Room is one in a series of regular meetings the Mayor holds around Auckland to connect with different communities.
The meetings complement Len Brown’s popular ‘Mayor in the Chair’ lunchtime sessions, when people can talk briefly with the Mayor one-to-one. With the expectation of greater numbers, the evening meetings follow a ‘town hall’ format where the Mayor receives questions from the floor.
“These are important opportunities for me to talk to people living in different communities and directly hear locals’ aspirations, challenges and concerns.”
“We’ve had some good discussions at these evening meetings recently about the proposals in the draft Unitary Plan – as well as a huge range of other topics. These meetings are guided by the participants, and I’m keen to hear about things that are top of mind for locals in Papakura.
Individuals and community groups are welcome to attend and share their thoughts directly with the Mayor. Local councillors and local board members are also invited to attend the informal meeting.
The meeting will run from 6.30 – 8pm, in the Massey Park Function Room, 2 Ron Keat Drive, Papakura.
