Arson-damaged Scouts Hall Major Benefactor of Lions Event

The Arson
A call on March 17th 2013 woke scout leader Michelle Walker to some horrific news. Her local scout hall where she had attended and taught for the last fourteen years had been torched, again, in a mindless act of arson. The hall that is home to some 150 scouts, cubs and keas had been extensively damaged.

Fortunately, The Lions Club of Karori – a charitable trust that works to support the community, came up with a fundraising idea to help the scouts group rebuild their hall. They are hosting Andrew Newton – world famous hypnotist, for a hilarious and entertaining evening of mysterious insight to the mystical mind!

About Andrew Newton
To date, Andrew has hypnotised over 60,000 people worldwide, including many famous names in the UK and abroad, and has over 6,000 stage and television performances under his belt.
Andrew was the first hypnotist to appear on television (1992) and his 22 part series was shown all over the world, from Australia to Zimbabwe.
Worldwide, over three quarters of a million people have seen Andrew perform LIVE, and at least 100 million have seen at least one of his television shows.

About the Lions
Lions are ordinary men, women and young people from all walks of life who bridge religious, political, economic and social boundaries. They are united in their desire to make a difference by contributing their personal time and talents to help other people
They are community volunteers who roll up their sleeves to help young people, elderly, the ailing, the needy and their environment. In terms of their time on projects and money raised, it is estimated Lions contribute more than $100 million each year for charitable organisations here and in the Pacific.
