All lanes re-open on Auckland’s Southern Motorway says NZTA

MEDIA RELEASE

NZ Transport Agency – Auckland Regional Office

All lanes re-open on Auckland’s Southern Motorway says NZTA

The NZ Transport Agency says all southbound lanes on Auckland’s Southern Motorway (State Highway 1) have re-opened after a crash near the Mt Wellington interchange earlier this afternoon.

The NZTA says southbound congestion remains heavy and drivers heading south at the start of the Queen’s Birthday holiday weekend face delays.

The multi-vehicle crash just north of the interchange had blocked two of the Southern Motorway’s three southbound lanes. The crash happened just before the start of the afternoon peak on the city’s motorway network.
