Resignation and new
role in City Council's Executive Leadership
Team
Wellington City Council’s Chief Financial
Officer, Peter Garty, today announced his resignation to
pursue further business opportunities.
Chief Executive Kevin Lavery said Mr Garty had made an outstanding contribution to the Council during his four years with the organisation and wished him well in his future endeavours. Mr Garty’s last day at the Council will be 27 July.
In another change, Chief Operating Officer Derek Fry has agreed to take on a new role as the Director City Growth and Partnerships, effective at the end of July.
Mr Lavery said he wanted to make sure economic growth - an important priority for the Council and the city – had the appropriate focus in the Executive Leadership Team.
“This is about giving some horsepower to economic growth,” he said.
