At 11.30pm on Saturday 29 June 2013 Ashburton police were called to a house fire at a rural property at 318 Fields Road, Hinds.
The fire caused extensive damage to the house. The occupants of the address were not home when the fire started.
A scene examination today has indicated there may have been property taken from the address. Enquiries are continuing to determine if property is missing.
The Ashburton police request any person who has seen any suspicious activity, persons or vehicles in the Fields Road, Hinds Arundel Road area or have information to contact the Ashburton police on 03 3078408 or call Crimestoppers 0800 555 111.
The police will be conducting further enquiries.
