Gunman on the loose after firing shot in WINZ office

Police confirm that a male has entered the Ashburton WINZ office this morning and discharged a firearm.

Police are on the scene.

The male left the scene on a push bike and should not be approached.

Police have no further comment at this time and request that locals take precautions and stay indoors.
