Searchers hope for better weather

Mt Cook - Search update The weather forecast is looking to improve tomorrow (1.1.15) and allow the search to resume in the morning.
Once the area has been assessed from Plateau Hut a Helicopter and members of the DOC Alpine Rescue Team and Christchurch LSAR ACR team will deploy. The weather in the search zone is high winds and snow falling at the moment.
Heavy rain is currently falling in the village. It is hoped that the men have dug themself a snow shelter or similar and are waiting for the weather to clear.
