Johnsonville line closed again – Greg O’Connor

Johnsonville line closed again – Greg O’Connor

"The fact the Johnsonville Line has been closed by slips the last two Fridays in a row indicates the need to prioritise infrastructure spending within the northern suburbs," Labour Ōhāriu candidate Greg O'Connor said today.

Mr O'Connor was referring to the fact the Johnsonville Line has been closed by a slip for the second time in a week.

"Before we go building tunnels through fault lines, let's make sure what we have is working efficiently," Mr O'Connor said.

Mr O'Connor said that parking near stations, particularly at Takapu Road and Crofton Downs, and other commuting issues, were often mentioned by those he spoke with. He intends to work on this area with residents’ groups and the city council.

"There is so much to be improved on in this electorate, and a fresh approach is needed to ensure locals are getting the public services they deserve," he said.
