World first The Rainbow Cable Car event sells out

World first The Rainbow Cable Car event has sold out with 120 adults and children looking forward to a very special story-time event part of Beyond the Page (BTP), a literary festival for children during the July school holidays. Drag Artist HRH Queen Olivia St Redfern will be the guest reader, with librarians from Wellington, Kāpiti and Upper Hutt Libraries assisting.

One of the Wellington Cable Cars is for the exclusive use of this event. The other cable car will continue to operate on its normal passenger schedule.

The cable car will make 4 return journeys, each featuring a storytime by Queen Olivia. Each return journey begins and ends at the Lambton Quay station, and runs for a duration of 20mins.

This event is sold out, with 30 people (adults and children) on the cable car for each story-time.

The timings for the 4 story-time are:
Journey 1: 10.50am – 11.20am (cable car departs at 11am)
Journey 2: 11.10am – 11.40am (cable car departs at 11.20am)
Journey 3: 11.30am – 12pm (cable car departs at 11.40am)
Journey 4: 11.50am – 12.20pm (cable car departs at 12pm)

Monday 16th July, 10.50am – 12.30pm
