Man charged in relation to Pitt Street attack

A 46-year-old Mt Eden man has been arrested and charged in relation to an incident where a man received a serious stab wound in Pitt Street on 2 September, 2018.
He has been charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon.
Police would like to thank the public for their information which helped lead to the arrest of this man.
“The public’s help has been instrumental in identifying and locating this man and we are very grateful for the information we received which has led to holding the alleged offender to account,” said Detective Senior Sergeant Lloyd Schmid.
He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear in the Auckland District Court today.
