Beer event returns to Basin Reserve

After a sold out crowd of over 5,000 people attended the inaugural event in 2017, Beers at the Basin is to return to Wellington’s iconic cricket venue on 1 December.

The event, Wellington’s largest summer beer event, will see Breweries from around New Zealand showcase over 100 different beer and cider varietals, including many special releases crafted specifically for the day.

26 breweries will be joined by 6 wineries and 20 food trucks along with a stellar entertainment line up to entertain the masses.

Organisers, Arada Promotions, were pleased with the feedback from 2017, and are excited to be able to build on this for 2018.

“It’s always a challenge, first year round, with events like this. Either it will work or it won’t. We’re stoked that it was so well received last year, and have worked hard to iron out some kinks to make this year even better,” says event director Damien Hochberg.

Due to demand, capacity has been increased slightly, but most of the improvements focus on the overall experience for attendees – a larger event footprint, more seating, extra food and beverage providers, and various other additions will ensure that 2018’s event cements Beers at the Basin on the annual summer calendar.

Tickets are now on sale, with VIP and group booking options available.

While a warm sunny day is hoped for, a postponement date of Sunday 2 December is in place, in the event of extreme weather.

Further details for the event can be found online at www.beersatthebasin.co.nz.
