Gull steps up to save iconic Farmers Santa Parade

Grinch foiled; Farmers Christmas Parade gains new sponsor

Gull New Zealand has wrapped up an early Christmas present for parade organisers by supporting the Parade for the next two years following ATEED’s withdrawal from sponsorship of the event.

Dave Bodger General Manager Gull New Zealand Limited explains, “Leaving an iconic event like this in jeopardy is Grinch-like and quite simply not on. We had a quick chat this morning and the Gull team all agreed we needed to help, so we did. It’s Christmas after all."

“We spoke to the parade organisers this afternoon and agreed to come on board for two years and add a little bit more."

“Absolutely floored, hugely thankful and relieved," was what Auckland Children's Christmas Parade Trust, Michael Barnet noted after the phone call from Gull today. "We can now have an amazing time next Sunday knowing we have secure funding going forward. Many thanks to the Gull team for such a quick decision and making the call.”

“Gull is all about fuelling your mission,” says Bodger, “and we don’t see a more important mission or one as exciting for children young and old than Santa’s.”
