Traffic Congestion Around Airport - Police |
||
Routes in and around the Auckland Airport environs were heavily congested for periods this morning for the arrivals of the United States and Korean Presidents.
Police say the traffic disruption was expected and well advertised because of the number of key motorcades utilising the routes.
Police minimised the delays as much as possible by opening up lanes soon after the motorcades had passed through on their way into the city.
Police acknowledge the closures may inconvenience some travellers but thank them for their patience.
We urge people to plan their journeys
well in advance, and allow plenty of time to reach their
destination, particularly if they're catching flights or
meeting travellers at the International and Domestic
terminals.
