Auckland International
Airport has announced an after tax profit of $42.4 million
for the year ended 30 June. Total revenue for the year was
$160 million.
The airport's retail activities have
performed well, with income up over 11% and is now
generating more income than aircraft movements. Growth in
passenger numbers using the airport was regarded as modest,
due to the Asian economic downturn.
However, on average
more than 21,000 passengers pass through the airport's three
terminals each day, making it the busiest airport in the
country. There are over 380 aircraft movements per
day.

Gordon Campbell: On the Sony cyber attack

Yet now with (a) President Barack Obama weighing in on the side of artistic freedom and calling for the US to make a ‘proportionate response’quickly followed by (b) North Korea’s entire Internet service going down, and with both these events being followed by (c) Sony deciding to backtrack and release The Interview film that had made it a target for the dastardly North Koreans in the first place, then ay caramba…the whole world will now be watching how this affair pans out.
