Managing Auckland's Growth |
||
Auckland City Council - City Scene
Submissions close at the end of November on Auckland City's plan for managing Auckland City's future growth - potentially another 170,000 people over the next 50 years.
Called the 'Liveable Communities 2050 Strategy' the plan proposes that the city manages where, when and how growth occurs rather than let it happen haphazardly. It identifies areas of the city where growth could be accommodated - called Strategic Growth Management Areas (SGMAs) in tandem with infrastructure (including drainage and transport), and amenity improvements.
Pilot liveable community plans have been started in Avondale and Panmure.
Formal submissions on the
draft Liveable Communities 2050 Strategy are needed by 30
November. Anyone wanting the draft strategies should contact
Natalie Sando Ph 379 2020.
