"For 64 years, New Zealand governments have been led by either National or
Labour," said the leader of the Natural Law Party, Mr Bryan Lee, "and it is
a sad fact that over that time we have slipped significantly in economic
performance compared with other countries, that more and more of our people
are experiencing genuine poverty and that crime -- particularly involving
violence -- has grown dramatically.

"The Natural Law Party has proven solutions to all these problems," said Mr
Lee. "We have a large body of international research to validate those
solutions and we have outstanding talent among our candidates to apply those
solutions.

"We would also use the best talent in Parliament and in the community,
irrespective of party, and we would end the confrontational approach to
politics which is so negative and debilitating."

Given the layers of meta-irony involved, the saga of the Sony cyber attack seemed at the outset more like a snarky European art film than a popcorn entry at the multiplex.

Yet now with (a) President Barack Obama weighing in on the side of artistic freedom and calling for the US to make a ‘proportionate response’quickly followed by (b) North Korea’s entire Internet service going down, and with both these events being followed by (c) Sony deciding to backtrack and release The Interview film that had made it a target for the dastardly North Koreans in the first place, then ay caramba…the whole world will now be watching how this affair pans out.
