LINES COMPANY RETURNS $2.6 MILLION TO CUSTOMERS

The Lines Company has today announced a further special discount to its 20,000 customers totalling $2.6 million.

Domestic customers in the former Waitomo Energy Services area are receiving an average special discount of $110, while those in the former King

Country Energy network area will get an average discount of $45. Larger customers will receive proportionately more. The difference in discount size takes into account the difference in profitability and ownership of shares in the two areas.

The latest special discount takes the total amount paid out by The Lines Company for the past financial year to almost $5 million.

"The size of the special discount for each customer is based on the amount they have paid in line charges and for contracting work over the past year," The Lines Company chairman, Bob Kidd said.
