6 March 2001

PR 35/2001

AnchorMart & RD1.Com Support Sharemilkers

Rural supplies chain AnchorMart and its online venture RD1.Com is lending support to this year's Sharemilker of the Year Competition.

AnchorMart operates 26 rural supplies stores throughout New Zealand and last year became part of the new generation rural supplies and services provider RD1.Com, whose shareholders are New Zealand Dairy Group, ASB Bank, and NZ Post.

'I am delighted to announced that AnchorMart and RD1.Com will be a national and regional sponsor of the Sharemilker of the Year Competition" said National Competition Convenor, Donna Keaney,

The Sharemilker of the Year Competition rewards excellence in sharemilking and is New Zealand's most prestigious agricultural award.

"Without the support of our sponsors there would be no competition" commented Mrs Keaney, "we are really pleased to have AnchorMart and RD1.COM on board."

"AnchorMart joins a team of national sponsors, all dedicated to the Competition."

Other national sponsors of the Sharemilker of the Year competition are Ecolab, Dexcel, Livestock Improvement Corporation, Ravensdown, Blue Wing Honda, Telecom, and ACC.

The Bank of New Zealand is a significant sponsor at the regional level.

Competition judging is under way in the regions. "Sharemilkers have commented that they find the judging process particularly beneficial as it encourages them to analyse their business performance" concluded Mrs Keaney
