On-line calculator to help farmers estimate their shareholding in Global Co
“What will the value of my shareholding be if the Global Dairy Company merger goes ahead?”
This is one of the questions thousands of New Zealand dairy farmers have been asking with the build-up to the Global Co Dairies merger. But the complexity of the equation has left many farmers stumped.
Now Fencepost.com has made it easy with an instant on-line calculator.
All farmers need to do is enter four basic statistics available from their milk production records, and press “calculate” to receive an instant estimate of the total value of their shares in the new company.
They can also calculate whether they are entitled to extra peak notes if their milk supply curve is flatter than the Global Co curve.
“Fencepost.com is delighted to be providing this service,” says General Manager Dairy Vertical, David Walker. “The capital structure of Global Co Dairies is complex but it is such a fundamental part of the new company that I think it’s vitally important that all farmers understand it.
“Farmers will be able to use the on-line calculator to estimate their current position, but also play around with the calculations to envisage how changes in conditions or production levels could affect their shareholding in future.”
To find the Peak Notes Calculator, go to Fencepost.com and click on “Global Dairy capital structure and peak notes” in the top right hand corner. There, farmers will find a full summary of the Global Dairy capital structure and easy-to-follow instructions for calculating the value of their shareholding in the new company.
Fencepost.com is New Zealand’s leading agricultural website with more visits each week than almost all other agricultural websites combined.
