Richard Findlay New NZPI Leader In Wellington

Richard Findlay New New Zealand Property Institute Leader In Wellington

The New Zealand Property Institute today announced Richard Findlay as its new leader in the Wellington region.

Property Institute CEO, Conor English, said today, "It is fantastic to have people the calibre of Richard taking a leadership role in Wellington, our second biggest region. Richard takes over from Bryan Wareham who has done a sterling job through the transition to the new Institute. Bryan’s efforts are much appreciated.”

Richard Findlay has worked in the Wellington commercial property market since 1988. During this period he has been involved in Valuation, Property Management and more recently commercial agency work. Richard is a well-known figure in the property arena and now works as an Associate Director of the international property consultancy company Colliers Jardine.

Richard has a B.Com (VPM). He has been involved at local branch level for five years (was PLEINZ now NZPI). He is also an Associate Member of the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand.

Mr Findlay said today, “Property is very important to the Wellington economy. Wellington, like the Property Institute, has an exciting future. It is great to see both building momentum”.

“Our priorities at the local level are to encourage all property professionals to participate in local education and social functions and encourage professionalism, energy and enthusiasm within our region. I am looking forward to a challenging, fun and interesting year ahead," he concluded.

Other changes in Wellington see Doug Buchanan of Buchanan Properties take on the Vice Chairman’s role and the arrival of three new motivated committee recruits in David Beecroft of DTZ Darroch and Dennis Rodgers and Erin Palmer of Colliers Jardine.

The New Zealand Property Institute has a membership of some 3000 key property professionals, who provide services in a number of property related areas involving people, places and spaces. These include; property management, property consultancy, property development, property valuation (rural, residential, commercial and industrial), facilities management, plant and machinery valuation, financial analysis, real estate sales and leasing, project management, and others.The Institute has 17 branches across provincial and metropolitan New Zealand, a number of overseas members, and is affiliated to a number of other international property organisations.
