Tourism Welcomes Tranz-Scenic Progress |
||
Tourism Industry Association (TIA) spokesman Simon King today welcomed progress on the sale of Tranz Scenic to West Coast Railways of Australia.
"Tranz Scenic is an important tourism operator and contributor to the tourism infrastructure. It was recognised for the excellence of its overall service to the industry when it won the Supreme Award at the 1997 Tourism Awards.
"TIA looks forward to working with the eventual new owners of Tranz Scenic to ensure that tourists continue to have the option of rail travel as part of the overall New Zealand tourism experience," Mr King said.
