There was moderate trading on the New Zealand Futures & Options Exchange today involving 3569 futures and 25 options contracts traded with a face value of NZ$1.79 billion.

The Sept-01 90 Day Bank Bill Contract settled unchanged at 9429 (5.71%) and the Dec-01 90 Day Bank Bill Contract settled unchanged at 9419 (5.81%). The Mar-02 90 Day Bank Bill Contract settled unchanged at 9387 (6.13%) and the June-02 90 Day Bank Bill Contract settled up 1 point at 9353 (6.47%).

The Sept-01 Three Year Government Stock Futures Contract settled up 1 point at 9345 (6.55%) and the Sept-01 Ten Year Government Stock Futures Contract settled up 3 points at 9322 (6.78%).

The Sept-01 NZSE-10 Share Index Futures Contract settled down 7 points at 890.

Sky City : Auckland Convention Centre Cost Jumps By A Fifth

SkyCity Entertainment Group, the casino and hotel operator, is in talks with the government on how to fund the increased cost of as much as $130 million to build an international convention centre in downtown Auckland, with further gambling concessions ruled out. The Auckland-based company has increased its estimate to build the centre to between $470 million and $530 million as the construction boom across the country drives up building costs and design changes add to the bill.
