Te Awamutu dairy farmer John Wilson has been elected Chairman of the Global Dairy Company Shareholders’ Council, Global Dairy Company Chairman John Roadley announced today.
“Congratulations to John on his election,” Mr Roadley said. “Our company is proud to be a co-operative and the council has an important role in promoting that principle and monitoring our performance. John and I have a track record of working well together.”
Mr Wilson said he was pleased to be elected the council’s first chairman. “I want the council to play a proactive role in representing the views of shareholders to the Global Dairy Company board. We’re very aware of the huge task ahead of the board and company executives in bringing GDC together and we will play a constructive role through that period.”
