Ross McEwan to head First NZ Securities Limited
New Zealand’s most recent entrant to the stock exchange, First NZ Securities Limited has appointed Ross McEwan as Chief Executive Officer.
A New Zealander, Mr McEwan is currently Chief Executive of AXA New Zealand, a position he has held since 1996.
First NZ Securities Limited commenced operations on 4 March, following a successful management buyout of the retail share broking operations from Credit Suisse First Boston NZ Securities Ltd in which all senior advisors retained their jobs and the company has remained 100% New Zealand owned.
“The appointment of Ross McEwan as Chief Executive Officer follows a smooth launch and transition period for First NZ Securities,” said Chairman Bryan Johnson.
“Ross brings over 16 years of experience in the financial services and insurance industries which will see us well placed for the future. Under Ross’s leadership, First NZ Securities Ltd will continue to be 100% New Zealand owned and managed, yet retain a strong global alliance with Credit Suisse First Boston NZ Securities Ltd.”
Ross McEwan takes up his new role, in Wellington, on Monday 6 May 2002.
Ends.
