Singapore Airlines And Air Canada Increase Code Share Flights

Customers of Singapore Airlines (SIA) and Air Canada flying between Southeast Asia and Canada will now have even more flight options to choose from. SIA and Air Canada promise customers greater convenience and flexibility in travel arrangements with the addition of 10 code share flights from 15 January 2004.

The new code share services operating between Frankfurt and Toronto, Frankfurt and Montreal, Frankfurt and Singapore, San Francisco and Vancouver, and Singapore and Hong Kong will bring the total number of code share flights between SIA and Air Canada to 14. The addition will give passengers a choice of up to 10 more daily flights.

SIA’s passenger route network covers 57 destinations in 33 countries. Taking into account code share services with its alliance partners, the airline’s route network extends to 108 destinations in 39 countries. Air Canada mainline provides scheduled and chartered flights to over 100 destinations worldwide. Under the code share agreement which started in October 2000, both carriers can sell seats on each other’s services.

For the new code share services, Air Canada will use B74E and A319 aircraft while SIA will deploy a mix of B747 and B777 aircraft.
