Fonterra Leaders Election Nominations Open

Nominations open tomorrow for candidates in the Fonterra Co-operative Group's Board, Shareholders' Council and Directors' Remuneration Committee elections.

Three Directors, 15 Councillors and two members of the DRC are required to stand down by rotation. There will also be a bi-election in two Council Wards.

Nominations must be received by the Returning Officer by 5pm on Wednesday March 17, 2004 and all shareholders are eligible to stand for the three elections.

Warwick Lampp from electionz.com has been appointed as the Returning Officer and will provide Fonterra shareholders with Nomination Forms and Candidate Information Packs.

Voting will be from April 14 to May 12. Appointments will be made by May 31, 2004.

SkyCity Entertainment Group, the casino and hotel operator, is in talks with the government on how to fund the increased cost of as much as $130 million to build an international convention centre in downtown Auckland, with further gambling concessions ruled out.
