THE 'STAR' OF OUTDOOR MEDIA GETS NEW DIRECTION
Murray Davis moves from 'big screen' to Omnigraphics

New Zealand's leading large format digital printing company, Omnigraphics, has announced the appointment of a new Chief Executive. Murray Davis, formerly General Manager of Val Morgan Cinema Advertising (New Zealand Limited), took up the role of Chief Executive on 13 April 2004. Mr Davis spent five years running Val Morgan's operations in South America, before returning to New Zealand in 2002 as head of Val Morgan locally.

Omnigraphic Chairman Murray Higgs says, "It is fantastic to have attracted a Chief Executive that understands the advertising industry both in New Zealand and overseas. The relationships Murray has established within the local industry will ensure that Omnigraphics is even more responsive to the requirements of its New Zealand advertisers."

Though it is early days in his new role Murray has already identified a number of areas that he intends to focus on immediately. "Omnigraphics has always led the industry in technology," he says," In keeping with that position, I am already exploring with my team a number of advances. It's new technology that has the capacity to excite our customers and further enhance our product, a product that has always been, and will always be, the market leader."

Having lived offshore Murray also sees the expansion of the outdoor sector as a key future objective. " I like to think of our service more as 'out-of-home' media than outdoor," he says, "There are still many opportunities for expansion of the sector and some clients targetting specific demographics - for example, youth are crying out for more options. There are plenty of new ideas internationally that we hope to explore with our partners, the media owners."
