Peace Appoints Tony Engberg to Lead New Zealand Development

Peace Software has appointed Tony Engberg as Vice President of Research and Development (R&D), to be based at the Peace Development Centre in Auckland. Engberg heads Peace Software’s R&D organisation and is responsible for the ongoing development and advancement of Peace™ - the energy industry’s gold standard Customer Information System (CIS) for billing and customer management.

Engberg most recently served as Chief Technology Officer and Executive Vice President of R&D for Gemplus International, in France. Prior to Gemplus, Engberg enjoyed a successful 23-year career with Hewlett-Packard (HP), in the latter part of which he was Group R&D Manager for HP’s Worldwide Customer Service & Support Organization, where he assumed responsibility for a significant portion of HP’s software programmes, as well as General Manager for the Worldwide Response Centres. At both HP and Gemplus, Engberg led teams in excess of 1,000 engineers across a multi-site, international structure to deliver scalable, complex software programmes.

“We conducted a thorough search for a world class leader of high calibre technical teams, and in Tony we have found one,” says Sebastian Gunningham, Peace Software CEO. “Tony contributes a unique combination of technical depth and understanding as well as strong engineering leadership. He has proven effectiveness in building and managing globally distributed engineering teams of considerable size and complexity, and he has an enviable record in delivering large complex software programmes within tight time constraints.”
