Six Work Stoppages Ended in March 2004 Quarter
Six work stoppages ended in the March 2004 quarter, according to the latest figures from Statistics New Zealand. All six were complete strikes, involving a total of 624 employees and resulting in an estimated loss of $195,000 in wages and salaries.
Thirty-three work stoppages ended in the March 2004 year, compared with 40 in the March 2003 year. There were no ongoing work stoppages in the March 2004 quarter.
