Auckland, 21 September 2004

Avenues Event Management is pleased to announce the appointment of Kaye Wilson to its Auckland operation. Kaye brings over 20 years of event management and marketing experience to Avenues as the company continues to grow its Auckland interests.

“Auckland is New Zealand’s most dynamic and fastest growing event market having invested heavily in the type of infrastructure required to attract the top events,” said Avenues’ Managing Director, Melanie Walker.

“To service this market requires senior expertise with a broad set of skills – we believe Kaye brings this to the job.”

Most recently Kaye held the senior position of Sponsorship and Event Manager for TVNZ where she managed all aspects of TVNZ’s sponsorship campaigns and special events.

“This included event management and sponsorship campaigns for TVNZ’s involvement with the America's Cup, Ellerslie Flower Show, Westfield Style Pasifika and TV2 International LAUGH! Festival,” Ms Walker said.

“Prior to working with TVNZ Kaye was a senior writer and producer for Westwood One Radio Network based in Los Angeles, California. She was integrally involved in the pioneering marketing strategies of America’s largest producer and syndicator of radio programmes that intergrated individual shows with key international brands such as Budweiser, McDonalds and Coca-Cola. Kaye also worked on the production team of large scale special events Live Aid, USA for Africa and Conspiracy of Hope:25thBbirthday Anniversary of Amnesty International American Tour, which was telecasted worldwide.

“Upon returning to New Zealand Kaye managed events and sponsorship campaigns for a wide range of organistions including Diners Club International, New Zealand Tourism Board and The Foundation for the Blind to name a few.

“This wealth of experience and knowledge will add a broader dimension to our offering to the Auckland market as well as to the wider Avenues team,” she said.

Avenues Event Management was founded 15 years ago by Melanie Walker and has grown to be one of the largest Event Management companies in New Zealand with 16 staff and offices in Wellington and Auckland.
