Successful Business Creates Successful Tax Relief…

19 August 2005

Successful Business Creates Successful Tax Relief…..!

“Let’s be honest: it’s thanks to successful business that has allowed Michael Cullen to unveil his ‘surprise’ tax relief package.”

Chamber of Commerce chief executive Michael Barnett: “Surely it’s time the Government acknowledged the important role business has in creating the wealth and tax revenue that this country’s social agenda depends on.”

He asked whether a full analysis had been done on the best target for tax relief.

Maybe some of the relief could be targeted to helping transition NZ into a more creative environment providing high growth and high incomes from businesses that will keep creating significant tax surpluses.

Yesterday’s bonanza was further proof of a long-held view: “Successful business equals successful New Zealand.”
