Farmers Will Work With Bradford

Federated Farmers has cautiously welcomed the appointment of Sue Bradford as the Greens' agriculture and rural affairs spokesperson.

"Ms Bradford has a proven record for recognising the special requirements of the self employed and has been their good friend on accident compensation issues," said Charlie Pedersen, President of Federated Farmers of New Zealand.

"She will make sure the government sticks to its commitment to extend paid parental leave to the self employed," he said.

"Living in a smaller rural community, she is also likely to have an understanding of the importance of good infrastructure for rural communities.

"Federated Farmers looks forward to engaging with Ms Bradford in a constructive way over the next three years," Mr Pedersen said.
