Access to the
internet from home has been a hot subject of contention
lately and as New Zealand's broadband penetration rises
these sorts of rankings will be watched keenly by all
players in the market.
Nielsen//NetRatings also monitors
broadband penetration through Netwatch and in this first
quarter of the year, 31% of New Zealanders with access to
the internet at home report that their home connection is a
broadband type. This is up from 23% in the same quarter of
2005 and 8% in 2004.
