Convenient Travel for Residents and Aucklanders

Convenient Travel for Residents and Aucklanders

SeaLink has announced a new weekend car and passenger ferry service from Auckland's Wynyard Wharf, Viaduct Harbour to Waiheke Island.

This service creates a convenient option for travellers to Waiheke Island from central, west and north of Auckland, as well as Waiheke residents travelling to the central city and beyond.

The inaugural sailing will be on Friday, 3 November.

Donna Gauci, general manager of SeaLink comments, “This weekend service has been introduced as a result of public demand and complements our already successful services from Half Moon Bay, East Auckland. SeaLink has increased its involvement in tourism with our packaged SeaLink Holidays and we are about to publish our second brochure featuring great holiday package deals including ferry travel and accommodation. As Auckland is one of our key markets and Wynyard Wharf is such a central departure point, we look forward to providing a very convenient service to this target audience.”

Waiheke is a strong destination for Aucklanders and visitors to the city and the new service is expected to attract large numbers of travellers who can now take their own cars straight to the island from the city.
